Image hosting

With the explosion in digital cameras, taking photos has never been easier. Once you have the photos then the big job is how do you go about sharing them?

You could just put them in an email and send them to your family and friends who will probably get sick of getting huge emails from you. The best thing to do is to find somewhere to put your pictures online and then simply send a link in email.

If you are like me then you don’t want to pay for an image host and will be on the lookout for a free image host.

Now lets face it, nothing is for “free” is it? so when you use free image hosting you are always on the lookout as to why it is free. Well, I think I have worked it out the image hosting part is free but when it comes to viewing, the website has some sort of ads on it. See, there is a reason. As long as the ads are not too annoying then this is the best way of sharing your photos and other images.

Photography Blog

As an Avid Photographer I am always on the lookout for good, solid info on photography and especially digital photography.

I recently came across a photography blog that has a wealth of info on it. It is written by someone who uses a digital SLR camera and has about a hundred posts over a couple of years.

This blog covers all sorts of topics from software, camera and lenses and shooting specific subjects. It is easy to read and understand what is being talked about and I always find something of value in each post.

If you too have a passion or even a passing interest in Digital photography then this photography blog will probably have something for you.

While you are at it, check out the Photo Blog that is referred to in some of the posts as well.

Edit digital photos - Resize

With every new digital camera having more and more megapixels actually managing and sharing your photos becomes more and more of a chore from day to day. While it is important to have a large image with a lot of megapixels if you want to make a print, it is hardly necessary to send a 3 or 4meg image to your friends in an email or even to post it on your Myspace or Facebook site.

You could install the software that came with your camera and spend the next 6 months learning how to use it. You could also get something like Photoshop. As the most common task you want to do is to resize the picture for posting on your blog or sending in an email neither of these options really make a lot of sense. So, why not use an online image resizer for this task. You can resize pictures for free using their simple web based tools without the need to install or learn any software.

If you don’t know how to resize pictures then you are in luck - this is the easiest way I know of to do the job.

While you are there, don’t forget to create an avatar out of your favourite photo as well for use on your Blog and Forums.
